Obituary of Rachel Elizabeth Parr Hippert

Rachel Parr Hippert went to be with the Lord, December 13, 2023. She was born February 27, 1939 in Clifton Forge, Virginia and she was the daughter of the late Fenton Walter Parr and Nancy Armstrong Parr. She grew up on Craigs Creek in Botetourt County on her parent’s farm located at Mulberry Bottom. Rachel was Valedictorian of her Eagle Rock High School graduating class and attended Roanoke College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Hippert, Sr., and her siblings, Fenton Curtis Parr and Gayle Dillon.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Roy H. Hippert, Jr. (Yvette) of Alexandria; daughter, Margaret H. Scott (Jed) of Roanoke; grandchildren, Josh Hippert (Kelly) of Burlington, Kentucky, Rachel Stuart (Curt) of Culpepper, Ryan Capps (Taylor) of Spring Hill, TN, Elizabeth Capps (Massih) of Cincinnati, OH; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Genevieve Hippert, Lincoln, Noah and Zoe Stuart, Clari, Spencer and Mary Capps; brothers, James Parr (Shirley) of Richmond, Thomas Parr (Linda) of Stuarts Draft; sisters, Patricia Hammond of Roanoke, Joan McCray of Fredericksburg, Martha Barnes (Andrew) of Sandston, Phyllis Parr of Roanoke; brother-in-law, Richie Hippert and sister-in-law Peggy McCormack; special cousins, Rosemary and Geraldine of Clifton Forge; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Craft officiating. The family will speak to guests following the service. Private burial for the family only will follow the service.
