Obituary of Donna McDaniel Gallimore

Donna Roxanne McDaniel Gallimore, aged 65, of New Castle Va. passed away on November 18, 2023, after a brave struggle with cancer.

Donna was born in 1958 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis Buell McDaniel and Thelma Irene Abbott McDaniel.

She is survived by her daughter Jessica Gallimore and her sons, Dakota Henderson and Dalton Henderson; her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jimi Hutchings, their sons, Cedric, Owen, and Roran; her brother, Timothy Carl McDaniel, his wife, Dr. Lori Heldreth McDaniel, and their family; as well as her long-time partner and companion in life, Larry McDonald; her special friend, Nellie Gallimore.

Donna was employed at Rowe Furniture for many years and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Her favorite pastimes included time with family, reading novels, and tending her extensive flower and vegetable gardens. She found great solace in nature and loved time outdoors, especially walks with her dogs along the creek near her home in Craig County.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A private celebration of life in honor of Donna will be held at a future date. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. (540)366-0707.
