Obituary of Dennis M. Mills

Dennis M. Mills, 66, of Boones Mill passed away at home  on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 after a battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia Spangler Mills.

Dennis was a graduate of Cave Spring High School and had worked for the Hershey Creamery.  At the time of his death he was the owner/operator of Southwest Virginia Delivery Service.  He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hiking the trails of the area with his beloved dog, Maddie

Surviving is his sister, Sandy Mills; and a longtime devoted friend, Norma Cox.

The family would like to thank the Blue Ridge Cancer Center for their care of Dennis.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Carilion Hospice or to the Franklin County Humane Society.

There will be a gathering of friends on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Electric Road Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home 3912 Electric Road  Roanoke, VA.  Private interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home 3912 Electric Road.  540-632-4200
