Obituary of Ramona Mae Workman

Ramona Mae Workman went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born to Charlie James Taylor and Lucy Bell Taylor in Burwin, West Virginia on December 20, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her parents, “Mama Taylor” and “Poppy”; sisters, Juanita Norris, Louise Vest, Alpha Graham, Joanne Smith, and Darene Mann; and eldest son, James “Jimmy” White Jr.  
 
She is survived and remembered her son, Jerry White; and her daughter, Penny Salyers. She is also survived by special grandchildren that she cherished with all her heart, Melissa White and  her daughter Desiree, Brad White and his family, Kimberly Custer and her daughter Zoe May and her sons Abel and Silas, Sierra Salyers, Jessica White, and Ashley White; and brother, Charlie James Taylor, Jr. our “Uncle CJ”. She was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, Barry Mann, Sandra Bradshaw, and many others near and far.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24019. Officiating her Celebration of Life will be Pastor Butch Hammed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider dropping by a nursing facility and visiting a patient or two. A small gift bag of treats along with a few minutes of your company means the world to them. The best gifts in life are free!
