Obituary of Barbara Ellen Igo
Barbara Ellen Igo, 67, of Goodview, VA passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2023 at her home after a short illness. God’s hand mercifully protected her from pain. She had no fear and was ready to join God and reunite with her loved ones. Born on February 16, 1956 in South Bend, IN, she was a daughter of the late Mont and Ruby Simms.
She is survived by her loving husband Mike, daughter Brianna Harrison (Jarrett Davis) of Copper Hill, VA, grandson Chance Harrison (Paige), serving with the United States Air Force in Rapid City, SD, great granddaughter, August. Barbara is also survived by her special boys Keith, Brandon and Jesse as well as her half-sister, Peggy.
Barbara was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, “mommle” and friend. She loved everyone she met and they loved her. She had a special bond and love for her grandparents, Anna and Harrison Adams, and her aunts, Violet, Ruth and Marie as well as their families. From them she learned and earned what we consider to be her legacy; which is reflected in Galatians 5:22-23. But the Fruit of the Sprint is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Her prayer and hope was to continue this legacy with her daughter and grandchildren.
She possessed a love for all animals and had many pets by her side through the years. At her request in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Derolf Animal Hospital at 1401 Mill Race Drive in Salem, VA or any local animal shelter in your area in hope that aid will find those in need. Barbara requested there not be a traditional funeral service but rather a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date.
In Loving Memory
