Obituary of Barbara Chapman

Barbara Lea Chapman, 73, of Roanoke went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 24, 2011. She was preceded by her father, Dale D. Chapman. Barbara taught school in Connecticut for twelve years. She retired after 25 years of service as a Missionary with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM). She served in the mission fields of South Korea and China. She will be sadly missed by her family. Surviving are her mother, M. Birdeen Chapman; sister, Suzanne C. Kaminski and husband Ron of Richmond; brother, David D. Chapman and wife Laura of Hamburg, New York; nieces, Tayne Frye and husband J. Calvin Frye of Richmond; Charlene Mehnert of North Collins, New York; Heather Stone of Richmond; nephews, Randall Kaminski and wife Jennifer of Roanoke; Casey Chapman of North Collins, New York. For those preferring to make memorial contributions, please consider the Shenandoah Baptist Church Mission Fund 6520 Williamson Road Roanoke, Va. 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Robert Mullins. Interment will follow in Daleville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
