Obituary of Phillip Bruce Wood

Phillip Bruce Wood, Sr., 75, widower of Pamela Folden Wood, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023. He was the son of the late James E. and Eva Compton Wood. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wood.

He enjoyed fishing, telling fishing stories, Virginia Tech sports, playing Hearts and beverages with friends and family.

He will be missed and remembered by his son, Phillip B. Wood, Jr. and his wife Alyson; daughter, Autumn B. Lanzafama and her husband Michael; stepson, Jason Itson; grandchildren, Zakk, Jackson, Orlando and Elizabeth; nephew, Allen Wood his wife Kathy and their children James and Morgan.

The family would like to thank Pam, Sue and others for their friendship and care during both his employment (40 years) and residence at South Roanoke Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will speak to guests following the service.
