Obituary of James Elsworth Hogan

James E. (Jim) Hogan went home to be with his Lord Sunday, September 24, 2023.His loving wife and caregiver of 47 years was at his side as well as other family members.  Jim was 73 years old and had been a professional over the road truck driver since he was 17 years old.  He would still be driving today if not for having to retire due to medical reasons.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Connie; son, Stephen Lavinder; granddaughter, India Taylor Lavinder; great granddaughter, Ember McKinlie Hale; "Adopted" daughter, Michelle Lincoln husband Scott and their children, Allie and Nickolas; sister, Mary Fletcher; special niece, Robin Steury, husband Bill; and their children, Nick, Mary Rose, Jack and Olivia; special nephew, Mark Dehart and son, Mitchell; special friend, Shelley Dehart daughter, Mary and grandson Hunter.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. David Dixon.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
