Obituary of Janet King Trent

Janet King Trent, 80, of Salem went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, William K. "Bill" Trent on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by by her parents, John and Elsie King; and a sister Nancy Hurt.

Janet was a 1961 graduate of Cave Spring High School and was an active member of Salem Baptist Church.  She loved gardening and shopping.  She and her husband owned Dooley Printing in Salem for many years.

Surviving is her son, Chad Trent (Amanda); granddaughters, Katherine Trent Holmes (Kaleb), Allison Trent (John Clark); grandson, Colin Trent; brother, John King, Jr. (Sarah); sister, Barbara Smith (Richard; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat (the one she never wanted) Toothless.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Salem Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Heath Rickmond.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
