Obituary of Melanie Augusta Harris

Melanie Augusta Harris, 73, of Rockbridge County, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Melanie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry Lee Harris; son, Douglas “Woody” Harris (Jo); and many loved ones.

Melanie was a lifelong student of love. She loved everyone and all of God's creatures.  Melanie almost always had a smile on her face. She was married for 52 years to the love of her life Larry. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, and loved spending time with everyone. 

She was a believer in the power and love of the Lord and rejoiced in all of God's goodness. Melanie worked hard and sometimes played harder. She always made the best of what was put in front of her, because she understood that time was one thing you couldn't buy. Melanie knew that she was blessed to be a blessing to others. Melanie taught the world that happiness is a choice. She will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Mom, may you walk happily around Heaven with everyone else you loved and missed that left before you. Rainbow Bridge lightened its load when you stopped by and collected all your babies...
