Obituary of Patty Hale Collins

Patty Hale Collins shed her earthly bonds and went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on August 5^th 2023. She is the daughter of Alice and John Hale, and was born on November 6^th, 1937. Mawmaw, as she is known to many, was a loving and proud Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

She is survived by sons, Claude Henson (Vickie), Jeff Henson (Bonnie), and John Henson (Becky). She is predeceased by her daughter, Shari, her parents, and her sister, Martha. She adored her grandchildren, Alicia, Cameron, Justin and Brooks. Her great-grandchildren meant the world to her, and she adored the presence of Austin, Brianna, Alaina, Daniel, Maria, and Hayden.

What she lacked in material wealth, she more than made up with a loving heart and giving spirit. She often took others into her home. She more than once gave her last dime and bite of food to others. She was a caretaker. She cared for many a family member and neighbor and never asked for anything in return. It was her passion to help others and dispense her wisdom and opinion. She had no problem telling you what she was thinking. Many of her descendants share the same traits, and for that, we thank God. She will be missed, and many stories will be told and retold about Mawmaw. She was quite the bird and shared the same spirited wit as her mother. Rest in peace, Mawmaw, for you deserve to rest and put to bed the bonds of pain. The Lord has his hands full with you walking the golden streets of Heaven. Give ‘em hell Mawmaw. We love you and miss you.
