Katrina Anne Mjelde of Roanoke, Va, passed away of Saturday, June 17, 2023. She was born on December 29, 1958 in Bamberg, SC.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. O’Gorman and mother, Sherry O’Gorman.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Torstein Mjelde; son, Bjorn Mjelde; daughter and son in law, Britt Faries and Joshua Hutchison; granddaughters, Brittney Cerebe, Scarlett Kinsley, and Precilia Kinsley; special friend, Jaime Gianni; brother and sister in law, Michael and Andi O’Gorman; sister, Lynn Latchford; niece and husband, Lauren Latchford and Yaron Miller; nephew, Jack Latchford.

 

A native of Bamberg, SC her life consisted of close family life and Irish roots. She moved to New Jersey in her younger life and graduated from Summit High School in 1976. She attended University of South Carolina as a Marketing Major. After college she worked as a senior administrator in a huge corporation and then transferred to a bank as a Senior Vice President. After many years in the banking industry, she worked alongside her husband up until recently as an administrative assistant in construction. She was brilliant in many facets of business and life.

 

Katrina encompassed everything that had to do with family. She loved her family unconditionally and wanted every moment of every day to involve them. She met her husband in 1980 and it was an instant love at first sight for both of them. They were married August 8, 1981. For the past 42 years they have experienced the ultimate adventure of life. Together they created a family and love that will be talked about for years to come.

 

Katrina will be missed by so many friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Cast Plates & Pints where the family will be accepting the public from 2:00-7:00pm.

 

In lieu of flowers there will be a donation site for her 3 granddaughters to help with their future.
