Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marcus Wendell Meador, 66, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on November 28th, 2022, after a 25-year-long battle with emphysema.

Marcus, known as Mark, was born to Laeta and Ernest Meador, on August 2nd, 1956. In Mark’s younger years, he went into business with his father as an excavating contractor. He loved his father dearly and enjoyed working by his side. Later in life, Mark enjoyed traveling across the United States as a truck driver. He loved going to each new state and experiencing what it had to offer.

Mark’s favorite titles in life were Dad and Papa. He loved his three daughters and eight grandchildren more than life itself. A man with a simple taste of blue jeans and t-shirts, he focused on providing his children and grandchildren with the best life possible without worrying about himself. Whether it be cooking the perfect dinner, attending all sporting events, turning his house into a daycare, shopping for hours for the perfect gifts, or just being a listening ear and giving advice, he could do it all.

Mark was truly a great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family, that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.

Mark is survived by his three daughters, Heather Welch, Aisha and son-in-law, Robert Buster, and Rachel Meador and fiancé Brandon Mayo; his grandchildren, Victoria Ellison, Brianna Sage, Marcus Robertson, Holden Robinson, Kyleigh Buster, Aniyah Buster, Brycen Buster, and Josephine Mayo; his mother, Laeta Meador; his brother, Barry and sister-in-law Patsy Meador; his Ex-wife, caretaker, and dear friend, Sherry Welch. Mark is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Meador.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on June 24th at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, VA 24012.
