Obituary of Diana Lavinder

Diana Lavinder, 74, was a lifetime resident of Roanoke VA. Graduating from Jefferson High School in 1967. Earned a degree in Accounting and was employed by Southland Corp., Mkg Enterprises, and CSM management, where she retired from.

Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, being an avid bowler she bowled on several different leagues for years, and enjoyed line dancing, and going to concerts and music festivals. 

Her greatest joy was raising her only daughter and helping with her grandchildren.  She also had a special place in her heart for all of her neices and nephews. She was the one who planned family gatherings, family reunions,  and holidays. 

She is preceded in death by her companion and daughters father Dean Campbell,  her parents James and Helen Lavinder, and her brother Larry Lavinder.  

She is survived by daughter and son in law, Natalie and James Love. Her Grandsons David (Tracey), Caden and Camden, granddaughters Georgia and Ryleigh. Great grandchildren Dakota, Savannah,  River and Rowen. Her sister Reka (Mac)Nance,  brothers James Lavinder Jr, Ronald (Becky) Lavinder, Dan (Lorrie) Lavinder, sister in law Diann Lavinder, special aunt Wilma Brumfield, her two lifelong best friends Sara Mullen and Sharon McLain and many neices, nephews. 

Special thanks to her nurse, LeNae, at RMH, the carilion hospice nurses Kim, Megan, and Hillary. 

Services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 4 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. (540)366-0707.
