Obituary of Robert A. Stevens

Robert A. "Bob" Stevens 87, of Roanoke passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie C. and Ethel Kessler Stevens; brother, William "Billy" Stevens; and niece Terry Stevens Huffman.

Bob retired from General Electric after 40 years of service.  He was a longtime member and Deacon at North Roanoke Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and golfer.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Carolyn B. Stevens; sons, Mike Stevens (Debra), Jeff Stevens (Christi), and Jim Stevens (Jill); granddaughters, Kaila, and Savannah Stevens, Brandi Jones Wilkerson (Matt); great grandson, Silas Grey Wilkerson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Daniel Palmer.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
