Obituary of Christopher Michael McFadyen

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christopher Michael McFadyen of Roanoke, VA, 60, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on May 15, 2023, after suffering a heart attack.

He was born on September 2, 1962, in Paterson, N.J. to James and Ruth McFadyen. Chris was predeceased by his brother, Jim, and his father, James.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Jeanmarie; beloved children Jennifer, Christopher, Alexander and Samantha; stepmother Laura, brother Dan, nephews Jim and Tyson, niece Camryn, stepsister Toni Briscoe, stepbrothers Ron, Michael and Chris Penque, and ex-wife Kelly; and three wonderful grandchildren, Rory, Alara and Kennedy, as well as many friends and relatives who mourn his loss.

Chris was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a force to be reckoned with. His love for his family was central to his life. He loved big and he lived large. He was incredibly generous and was always there for anyone who needed him. His cooking was legendary, and he was happiest hosting family dinners. Golf was his passion, and he enjoyed sharing it with his buddies from all over. He did crossword puzzles religiously, in ink. He was an avid N.Y. Giants fan, held season tickets for many years and loved connecting with childhood friends at the games. He had a great love of music and travel, but nothing compared to the love he held for his family and friends. To say he will be missed is an understatement.

Services will be held July 8, 2023 at Five Point Sanctuary 1217 Maple Ave SW Roanoke, Virginia 24016, time is pending. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Electric Road Chapel. (540)632-4200
