Obituary of Brenda Lee Allen

Brenda Lee Bishop Allen, wife of John “Randy” Allen, passed away at her home in Goodview, Virginia on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the age of 60. She was born on February 21, 1963 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Joyce Arrington Tyree. Brenda was raised by her stepfather, Carl Wesley Arrington, who loved and raised her as his own from the age of 2 years old. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Deanna Gail Arrington Kidd and Janet Arrington Jones.

Brenda attended Amelon Primary School and Amherst County High School. Brenda was a kind and sweet person who was a bit shy until she got to know you. She would light up any room with her smile and laughter. She was loved by all whose lives she touched. She was an exceptional employee who always strived and worked diligently for perfection and quality. Brenda was a lover of all animals, especially cats. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to country music and dancing, as well as bird watching and gardening. She loved to make her home beautiful inside and out. Brenda took great joy in spending time with her husband Randy and her son TJ.

In addition to her loving husband, John “Randy” Allen, she will be missed and remembered by her son Terry Wayne Lewis, Jr. “TJ”; her sisters, Annette Arrington Mays and Karen Eagle Vaughan; brother, Tommy Lee Eagle.

Memorial services will be held at a later date and will be announced by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Lynchburg Animal Shelter, the Friends of Campbell County Animal Shelter or the Animal Shelter of one’s choice.
