Obituary of Roger Allen Lilly

Roger Allen Lilly, 69, of Roanoke, passed away on April 20, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 31, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of the late Edward and Lela Lilly. Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a longtime and active member of the Vinton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed volunteering his time in preaching, shepherding, and building work. He enjoyed a long career in cabinet and countertop manufacturing, and opened his own business, Five Star Fab & Fixture, in 1986. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and loved his employees. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Lilly, Jr. and Robert Lilly. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Lynn, and his 3 sons and their wives, Jeremy & Lindsay Lilly, Justin & Tedi Lilly, and Jared & Lindsay Lilly. Roger is survived by his sister and her husband, Sandy & Eddie Crockett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Roger especially loved his grandchildren Carson, Jonah, Anderson, Sadie, Charlotte, and Max. They are grieving his loss and will miss him tremendously. The family has been overwhelmed by the support of their friends and appreciate the many calls, texts, and visits. We will forever be grateful for the kindness that has been shown to us. 

There will be a visitation with the family on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Simpson's Funeral Home on Peter's Creek Road from 3-6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Hidden Valley Country Club on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. 540-366-0707.
