Jack was a joy to be around and a great man of God. He was a man who wore "many hats" in the Church but most memorable to me was how he loved to minister with music. He will be missed here but he is no doubt in the presence of the one he loved and served for so many years, our Lord Jesus Christ. Thoughts and prayers for the family he leaves behind.

Jack and Betty Lou, his late wife, were my dearest friends. They were with me at a time in my life that I was very low and they would not let me give up. Every day checking on me. I will never forget how God used them in my life. I loved them dearly and I know for sure that I will see them again in heaven.

What a friend and witness Jack was for our Lord. I first came to know him and Betty Lou when I was given the privilege of taking care of their first grand daughter Holly at 7 weeks old. Jack and Betty Lou have been friends of mine every since. What a witness for our King. He will be missed. Tami Bick

Jack was the epitome of kindness. He brought cookies over and would sit and talk so enjoyably. It was a blessing to live near him.
All the best to his family,

Kathy, I can't tell you how sad I am to have read that your precious father has passed. I never met him, but was hoping someday I would. He & I could have had fun with the old piano and the red Hymn book! But who could not be happy for him to finally see the Saviour he served and then be reunited with his one and only love, Ms. Betty Lou! May God wrap His comforting arms around all of your family.
With love & sincerest condolences,
Lyn & Phyllis Jackson

So many good memories of Jack! He and Betty treated me like royalty when they entertained me in their home when I conducted revivals at their church. They made me feel like one of the family when I stayed with them and the rest of the family at the farm during Peyton’s Camp in the 90’s. Hugs and prayers for the family as you release Jack into the presence of Jesus. You are loved. Wish I could be there to help celebrate his home going.

When my sister Polly called me to let me know that Jack Lawson had passed away, it was a very sad moment for me. I have fond memories of Jack as my Sunday School teacher while I attended Calvary Tabernacle back in the 1960's until 1975. I remember accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the church in Jan. 1971.
I remember Jack as a kind compassionate man who taught us boys with love and concern for us. I have been away from the. Roanoke area since 1975, so I have kind of lost touch with a of of people that I grew up with.
Over the years, I have often thought of those years growing up at the church. I believe that my faith and service to the Lord ties back to those years of sitting under the teaching of Jack and the preaching of Rev. Harry Peyton.
I know as friends and relatives we will miss Jack, but I also know that he is having a wonderful time with his Lord and Savior. I can imagine him singing and rejoicing with Betty, Gaggie, Rev. Peyton and all the saints who have gone on before. I am sure he is singing in that wonderful tenor voice.
My sincerest condolences to Lee, Cathy, and all the family and friends dealing with their loss.

We were honored to have Jack play and sing in our church, and attend our Bible Study classes. He was a kind, gentle soul and will be greatly missed.
