Q: How did you meet Lillian?
A: Dill was married to my mothers 1st cousin, Dan. You could say she has know me all my life. Danette and I were in the same grade together. One thing I will never forget is the article in the Roanoke Times about her. The reporter referred to her as the walnut lady. She would pick up black walnuts and clean them and crack them. After my wife and I moved to our new house I passed by their home every day going to work. Dill was always working in the yard or in her garden. Truly a great lady. I will miss seeing her in the yard as I pass by. My sympathy to all the family.
