Obituary of Mary Ann Petty Morgan

Mary Ann Petty Morgan, born January 13, 1932 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 2, 2023.  She was the daughter of Miller Elden and Helen Boxley Petty.

Surviving are her husband of almost 60 years; Charles T. Morgan; son, Thomas (Donna) Morgan; daughter, Helen (Greg) Clemens; grandchildren, Anna Morgan, and Leslie and Sarah Clemens.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women’s College and the University Of Virginia School Of Nursing.  She was employed by Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona where she taught nursing.  She was also employed by Community Hospital in Roanoke where she worked as a nursing supervisor.  She was a member of Northview United Methodist Church for over 40 years.

Mary Ann and Charlie enjoyed many years of traveling and RVing together.  They shared a lot of great times and made many lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Virginia Children’s Society 4200 Fitzhugh Avenue Richmond, VA  23230.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Doug Sasser.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
