Obituary of Freda Potter

Freda M. Potter, 89, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2023. She was born on September 27, 1933 to the late Mack Donald Potter and Cora Felts Potter.  Freda was the youngest of nine children, all of whom passed before her. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Potter, and her great-granddaughter, Emerson Cecil.

Freda worked as an accountant for Plastics One, Inc. for over 50 years, where she retired as Vice President in 2003.

She has been a faithful member of New Life Christian Ministries since 1970, and proudly served as their devoted bookkeeper for approximately 40 years.

Freda is survived by her son, Michael Potter (Joyce); granddaughter, Ashley Cecil (Matt); granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Potter; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Cole, Emerson, Reese, and Kennedy; and special nieces and nephews. She loved her family deeply.

The family will have visitation on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 12pm-2pm at Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va 24019. A chapel service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Walter L. Wood officiating.
