The Fisher family was introduced to Dr. Dunker many years ago at a Young Life family event at Windy Gap, NC. Our youngest baby, Kaitlyn, had been diagnosed with hydrocephalus and received a brain shunt at nine months of age. We were living in Bristol, VA at the time, not knowing that God's plan would bring us to Roanoke and a personal friendship with this wonderful man who had offered words of encouragement so many years earlier. Little did the family know that one of his sons, Pete, would also become a friend and spiritual mentor to me and my family. Dr. Dunker was no longer a neurosurgeon but a friend, a brother in Christ, a spiritual teacher just as Pete is today. I can not adequately put into words, how much Rod, Karen, and Pete have meant to me in my spiritual journey. Thank you for coming along side of me and my family and for sharing our walk with Christ.
