Obituary of Fred M. Damewood

Fred M. Damewood, 91, of Roanoke passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Damewood; and a daughter, Joanna Damewood Hill.

Mr. Damewood retired from Singer Furniture and was a member of Living Water Christian Church at Northside.

Surviving are sons, Gary W. Damewood (Patricia), and Michael L. Damewood (June); daughter, Lisa Damewood Gok (Kadir); grandchildren, Jae Damewood (Kelsie), Cory Duncan, Allison Hill, Kristen Jordan (Samuel), and Michael Damewood, II (Amanda); great grandchildren, Sierra Hill, Easton, Ainsley, and Cooper Damewood; and sister, Shelby Rexrode.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Living Water Christian Church at Northside 5110 Florist Road Roanoke, VA  24012.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Paul Hatfield.  Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
