Harold C. Cornett, 93, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 29, 2023.  He was preceded by his parents, Vester Clay and Edith Melvina Cornett; brother, Merle Cornett; sisters, Beryl (Dale) Taylor and Vera (Early) Doss; and first wife, Dee Cornett.

Mr. Cornett proudly served his county in the U S Army.  He was a longtime devoted member of Oakland Baptist Church.  Harold worked for the U S Postal Service and retired as Parts Manager for Fulton Trucks.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Cornett; sons, David Cornett (Carolyn), Lee Massey (Joann), Tom Massey (Robin); daughters, Sandy Cornett Brown (Bobby), Debbie Lester (Rick), and Lisa Stephan (Rob); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren including, Barry Cornett (Megan), Brittany Cornett, Matthew Brown (Lacey), Ben Lester (Kaitlin), Rebecca Forrest (Sean); great grandson, Trevor Forrest; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Oakland Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Scott Hamilton.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
