Obituary of Joyce Saul Gibson
Joyce Saul Gibson, 67, of Moneta, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Betty Saul; sister, Carolyn Sweeney; father-in-law, Irvin Gibson; and sister-in-law, Angie Lorenzo.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Roger Gibson Sr.; daughter, Jennifer Williams (Austin); son, Roger Gibson Jr. (Karie); granddaughters, Emily Williams, Kayla Gibson, Erika Gibson, and Abigail Williams; brother, Dennis Saul (Theresa Welch); mother-in-law, Gladys Gibson; brothers-in-law, Dana Gibson Sr. (Dianah) and Bill Lorenzo; fur babies (cats), Mello and Spike; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She loved watching her granddaughters play sports, taking annual beach trips to Destin with her daughter and family, and caring for her fur babies. She loved her family and was so proud of the beautiful young women that her granddaughters have become.

The family will host a Visitation on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 5 – 7 pm at Simpson Funeral Home (Peters Creek). Then, the family will have a Graveside Service on Friday, January 20. 2023 at 11:00am at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Rd. NW, Roanoke, VA 24012. The Reverend Mark Childers will be officiating the service.
