Obituary of Robert Charles Kamel

Robert C. Kamel, age 87, passed away at home on January 10th surrounded by his beloved wife, Claudia and sister in-law Clover.  He was the son of Lillian and Sydney Kamel of South River, NJ.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin, Steve, and Stanley. Before settling in Roanoke 32 years ago, Bob resided in Massapequa NY where he enjoyed working in the garment district in Manhattan prior to owning a glass business on Long Island.

In his retirement he enjoyed gardening and indoor and outdoor plant care, cooking and entertaining for friends and family, and social and wellness activities at the YMCA.  He was a loving and supportive husband, dad, granddad and friend.

He is survived by his son Dan, daughters Stacey and Laura, and granddaughters Allison, Rachel, and Blake.  If you wish to honor Bob with a donation, a donation to a charity of your choice and kindness to a stranger and/or loved one is appreciated.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.
