Obituary of Johnny Malcolm Craighead Sr.

Johnny Malcolm Craighead Sr., 76, of Franklin County, died on Sunday, January 13, 2023.

He is survived by his only son, Johnny (John-John) Craighead Jr. and wife Carol; grandchildren, Jessica Boerstler and Johnny Craighead III (Peyton); great grandsons, Johnny M. Craighead IV, Waylon Craighead, Tristen Boerstler, and Josey Craighead; brother, Doug Craighead (Karen) of Texas; sisters, Martha Muth (Scott) of NC, and Robbin Womack (Scott) of Roanoke; and many nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Millard Craighead; mother, Winnie Pugh; brothers, Billy Craighead and Tony Craighead; and sisters, Jean Ann Blunke and Ruth Fisher.

A Memorial Service will be held at Simpson Funeral Home (Peters Creek) on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 3pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 2 – 3 pm.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their care, especially Tonie, Sandy, Jean, Kathy, Jamie, Tina, and Chaplain Tammy.
