Obituary of Sharon Ogburn Bailey
Sharon Ogburn Bailey, 75, of Roanoke, born September 18, 1947 in Marion Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her husband Randolph “Randy” Bailey, and brother-in-law, J.C. Testerman.
Sharon is survived by brother Charles Huff of Roanoke, Virginia; sister, Judy Testerman of Marion, Virginia; nephew, Charles G. Huff, II and wife Amber of Fullerton, CA, Kevin Testerman and wife Tina of Marion, Virginia; niece Jennifer Hiner and husband Chad of Burien, WA; great-nieces, Hayden and Hailey Hiner of Burien, WA; great-nephew, Holden Hiner of Burien, WA; cousins, Claude Brooks and wife Sandra of Wytheville, Virginia, Kathryn Ann Maynard and husband John of Largo, Florida, and Phyllis Holland and husband Sam of Baltimore, Maryland; special four legged furry friend, Bella; stepchildren, Bruce Bailey, and Sherrie Bailey Faries; step-grandchildren, Troy Faries and wife Kristina, Erika Bailey, Robert Faries and wife Alison, Amanda Faries Gomez and husband Jackson, Ashley Faries, and Brandon Bailey; step-great-grandchildren, Andreas Almazan, River Faries, Gwen Faries, and Makaiah Gomez; sister-in-law, Joann Santucci and husband Bobby.
Sharon enjoyed going to game day at Summerdean Church of the Brethren on Friday, to be with her special friends. She was an accomplished piano player, and enjoyed playing hymns for anyone who wanted to sing along.
Sharon’s family would like to thank the doctors and the staff of the Palliative Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital; the Doctors and staff at the Blue Ridge Cancer Center in Roanoke, Virginia; a special thank you to Dr. Mark Kochenderfer, and all her caregivers throughout fifteen years of cancer treatments.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 1 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Virginia. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. (540)366-0707.
