Nelson S. Burkholder, Jr. 86, of Roanoke passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson S. Burkholder, Sr. and Ernestine Landrum Burkholder.

 

Mr. Burkholder was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from the Michelin Corporation after 25 years of service.

 

Surviving is his devoted wife of 63 years, Judith M. Burkholder; daughters, Gerri L. Burkholder, Traci B. Proctor (Harlan); granddaughters, Camryn and Madison Proctor; sister, Martha B. Murray (Doug); numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to The Gideons International.

 

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in Evergreen Burial Park by Dr. Bryan Smith.   The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the Faith Chapel of First Baptist Church 515 Thrid Street from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
