Obituary of Brenda Joyce Saunders

Brenda Joyce Jones Saunders, 79, widow of Wayne Saunders, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was born in Roanoke and was the daughter of the late Cleo S. and Frances Creasy Jones. She was a long-time member of Hollins Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Donald S. Jones (Dayle); niece, Katrenna Sandy (Steve); great-nieces and nephews, Ryan Sandy (Brittany), Katie Alexander (Ben), Phillip Sandy (Lindsey); four great-great-nieces and nephews, Kennedy, Elliot, Harper, and Emme; as well as several cousins and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Rev. Mark Washington officiating. Interment will be private. The family will speak to friends following the service.
