I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the Dudley family on the passing of Danny. I grew up with him from elementary school all the way through high school. We would stand on the carport there waiting on the bus to come. I remember all the conversations we had and rough housing around. Danny was always such a kind and energetic guy. My mom still lives up on Meadowcrest and each time I go to visit I pass the Dudley home and think fondly on those memories. I pray God will continue to bless each of you and it is a comfort knowing that he has gone to be with his Dad and his Savior. The Class of 1988 Vikings stand with each of you during this time.

My first memory of Danny is on my first day at Virginia Tech when I moved into my dorm room to live with Kathy as roommates. The whole family of six were squished in that room to help set up & give her love…the love in the Dudley family was apparent. I enjoyed hearing “Danny”stories from Kathy and visiting the Dudley’s at their home. I can still hear Danny’s calm way of saying Kathy’s name…patient and loving, and I can hear how Kathy always says his name…joyful and loving. Danny’s memory will live on in those who were touched by his sweet spirit. I find peace knowing he is with his loving Fathers now, and I send all of the Dudley’s my love.

Danny. I knew you as Kathy’s older brother. We were a bunch of college students sprouting wings and exploring early adulthood. Your visits and our visits to your family home in Roanoke always left me with a sense of peace and gentle kindness amidst the uncertainty of those years. I remember the playful banter between you and your siblings and your wise cracks and sense of humor. May you rest at peace, once again at home with your dad. Goodbye for now, Patricia
