Kathy Cook Owen, 67, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 22, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Maxine Cook; sister, Susan Cook; and brother, John Cook.

Kathy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She retired from Medeco Security Locks.  She was an avid bowler, and a devoted Girl Scout Mom.

Surviving is her husband of 41 years, Donald Ray Owen, Sr.; children, Rhonda Owen, Donald Owen, Jr. (Kamika), Melissa Lawhorne (Michael); grandchildren; Michelle Akers (Roger), Brittany Owen, Josiah Boose (Autumn) Alexis Owen, Ivory Owen, Bobby Patsel, Kevin Boose, Jr., Jerzie Boose, Izabella Lawhorne, Allyson Lawhorne, Kameden Lawhorne and Kalen Deal-Hunt; nine great grandchildren, brothers, Bob Cook, Fred Cook (Peggy), Jimmy Cook (Roberta); sisters, Betty Holland (Max), Karen Keith (Roger); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m.  Friday, December 30, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
