Obituary of John Lloyd Bryant

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John Lloyd Bryant, 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 11, 2022.

A proud Army Veteran, John worked as a Production Associate at Marvin Windows at the time of his passing. He spent many years with Adams Construction designing asphalt formulas and inspecting finished paving on numerous roads in the Roanoke and New River Valleys.

His faith was very important to him, both in theory and in practice. John was well-known for his kindness and generosity to others, especially those seniors living with food insecurity. He also devotedly taught adult Sunday School class at the Heights Community Church in Roanoke.

Ever the outsdoorsman, John spent as much time as possible exploring the mountains and rural back roads of Southwest Virginia both on foot and in the car during weekly driving trips with his mom.

He will be remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Alice Davis Rice; sisters, Aleace Cappelle (Calvin) and Mary Minnix; and nephews, Andrew Minnix and Shane Cappelle.

Interment will be held at Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Dublin Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00am at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Local Office on Aging: LOA Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 14205, Roanoke, VA 24038-4205.
