Shirley Ann Babcock, 90, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, spending most of her younger years in Buffalo, New York.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” R. Babcock; and son, David “Bear” Babcock.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Vener (Neil) and Carol Hall (Tom); sister, Sally Johnson; daughter-in-law, Leslie Babcock; grandchildren, Benjamin Babcock (Master Sergeant in the Air Force), Hannah Babcock, and Lauren Cohen (Will); great grandchildren, Ethan, Anna, and Madelyn; nieces, Sue Williams and Sally Clark; and nephew, Jerry Babcock.

Shirley loved music and singing in Southview United Methodist Church’s Choir and the singing group, The Sunshine Gang. She was an avid quilter, reader, gardener, bird watcher, and loved antiquing. She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with her friends at Elm Park Estates. She was a big Buffalo Bills fan. 

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the Chapel of Elm Park Estates, 4230 Elm View Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
