Virginia Pring Kesting 86 of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 20, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Edward Simmons, Sr., Charles E. (Chuck) Pace, and Walter D. Kesting; parents, Gilmer Hutton and Minnie Matthews Pring, brothers, Marvin and Lawrence Pring; and sister Metter Hall. Mrs. Kesting was a member of Colonial Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, Va. Surviving are her children, Rose Ann Maior and George of Kansas; Charles Edward Simmons, Jr. and Linda of Irvington, Alabama; Joseph Lonzey Simmons and Linda; Douglas Wayne Simmons and Randy Prichard all of Roanoke; Debra Simmons Newman and Ronnie of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, George and Jonathan Maior, Shelli Allen, Christie Johnson, Patrick Simmons, Theresa Bush, Dustin and Carla Jo Simmons, and Jennifer Brown and numerous great grandchildren nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer their special thanks to Carilion Hospice for their many acts of kindness and compassion during Virginia's illness. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. John Dooley. Private interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. Saturday until service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
