Obituary of Joyce Abell Miller

Joyce Abell Miller, 86, of Vinton went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday September 25, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shannon B. and Eva H. Abell as well as her husband Herman R. Miller and her daughter Mary Elizabeth Miller.

Joyce leaves behind to mourn her loss, children Rebecca M. Craig (Randall), Randy Miller (Cheery), and Chris Miller (Kathy)...."Mama, we love you and can hardly imagine life without you. As your children we have watched you continuously battle uphill to be with Jesus, in concert with Our Father’s Divine Will. It is with sad joy we turn you over to Him and thank Him for your life and your example to us of how to live" Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lyndsi Brzuchalski, Heather Waskey, Mariam, Peyton and Christian Miller; three great grandchildren, Kaylie and Parker Brzuchalski, and Hayley Waskey also mourn this our loss. Several nieces, nephews, and great nieces will miss their Aunt Joyce. Many friends she kept since childhood and others she came to love over the years will remember her fondly.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Angels of Assisi or the World Wildlife Foundation as our mother loved animals and supported these organizations.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at  Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
