Obituary of Jean Marlette Blevins

Jean Marlette Blevins, 82, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 17, 2022.  She was preceded  by the "love of her life" her husband, Robert Blevins; a sister, Ann Waldman; and  her parents.

Jean was an accomplished Registered Nurse, receiving a Master's Degree from Sangamon State University.  Her dedication to nursing and caring for people spanned for almost 30 years.  She retired in 1993 as a home care nurse working for Lewis Gale Medical Center.  She was a member of Penn Forest Wesleyan Church where she  served as the Director of the Seniors Ministries and cherished her time as a choir member.  

Among the many titles she held life the one that brought her the most joy, was that of grandmother.  She loved her family and had a table with all of her family photos displayed.

Surviving is a daughter, Kristin (David) Polatty; grandson, Jacob Polatty; step son, Michael Blevins;  grandchidren, Kiely Blevins and Trent Blevins; step daughter in law, Margaret Blevins; niece, Casandra Dracup; nephew, Christopher Dracup; cousin, Dennis Jose; and special friends and caretakers, Dan and Joann Butler, and Tom Young.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Penn Forest Wesleyan Church 3735 Chaparral Drive Roanoke, VA  24018 for a memorial prayer garden.
