Obituary of Steven Wayne Guard

Steven Wayne Guard, 62, husband of Vickie Wyrick Guard, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of West Virginia and was the son of the late John Robert Guard, Jr. and the late Lois Hatcher Guard.

He worked for the American Red Cross as a Phlebotomist after working as a District Manager for the Roanoke Times. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, old western tv shows, anything to do with the outdoors, and working.

In addition to his wife of 37 years, Vickie Wyrick Guard, he will be missed and remembered by his children, Christopher Matthew Guard and his fiancé Brittany, Stephanie Renee` Guard, and David Michael Guard and his significant other, Dakota; grandchildren, Audrie Lee Guard, Peyton Barrett Walker, and Vivian Rose Guard.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.
