Obituary of Madeleine Hagerman Lafferty

Madeleine was born in Tazewell, Virginia on May 10, 1936 to the late Jackson Henry Hagerman and Mary Ida Beavers. She was a very kind and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother.   

Madeleine lived in Melbourne, Florida. She married Gerald W. Lafferty December 4, 1965. They moved to Florida and started Lafferty’s Poultry Farm in 1966. They operated the farm for many years.

She was an active member of her church and many civic organizations. She volunteered whenever asked. Always willing to get involved and serve her community.   

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Always put her family first. Her unconditional love and support will be missed. She loved traveling around the country in their motorhome. She was always excited to share her stories and photos.      

Madeleine is preceded in death by her late husband Gerald W. Lafferty. Madeleine is survived by her sons, Gerald and Patrick; daughter Mary and her husband Shawn. Grandchildren Cody, Amanda, Payton, Tyler, and Macy.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 6, 2022 at 1pm Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road, FL 32907.  A reception will follow the mass in the church hall.
