Obituary of Darlene Marguerite Smith Graham

Darlene Marquerite Smith Graham, 87, of Salem went to heaven to be with the Lord and the love of her life Billy L Graham, in the arms of her daughter, on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy L. Graham; her parents, Charles and Sarah Smith; and multiple siblings.  

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" D. Hobday (Archie); grandsons, Jeremy L. Wright (Gwen), Jason Wright (Brittany), Michael E. Wright Jr. ( Eva), Matthew E. Wright (Vickie), Wallace "Wally" A. Wright, Sr. (Nikki), Joseph Hobday (Susan); great grandchildren Tristan, Kaelyn, Cameron, Justice, Kendra, Jacob, Wally, Jr. , Bayleigh, Gavin, Zion, Malaya, and Honi; great great granddaughter,Khloe; sister-in-law Marie Smith, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and special friend, Kathy Gillespie.  

She graduated from Shawsville High School in 1952.  She retired from Medeco in 1997.  She loved reading books especially studying the Bible, watching television and working her word searches. Those that knew her knew her love for her family, grandchildren and her special friends in her Bible study group.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Ken Nienke.  Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday July 8, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707
