Obituary of Clara Sue Savage
Clara Sue Savage passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her parents, Ed Johnson and Lucille McCray, her sister, Christine Johnson, and her loving husband, Van Savage. She is survived by her children: Debbie (Tim) Shell and Lonnie Dalton, sister Patty Harrison, brother Jack (Linda) McCray, grandchildren: Loraina (Adam) Pasley, Ashley (David) Garcia, Josh (Amber) Shell, Chris (Aimee) Dalton, Daniel Dalton and by her great grandchildren: Daisy, Lily, Iris, Emily, and Tatum.
Sue enjoyed being at home and with her family. She was fond of cooking meals for her loved ones. She especially loved being “Memaw” and looked forward to spending time with her great grandchildren. Although she worked hard for many years at other jobs, she loved working at Walmart, where she worked until she was no longer able. It gave her the opportunity to help and interact with many people in the local community.
She studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended their meetings. She loved the hope that the Bible gives for the future of a paradise earth, with no more suffering, pain, or death.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York.
A private graveside service will be held for the family. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Electric Road Chapel. (540)632-4200.
In Loving Memory
