Obituary of Betty Jean Brookman

On May 31, 2022, Betty Jean Brookman passed out of this life at the age of 88. She was born on July 15, 1933 to Charles Alvin Wilson and Minnie Sue Ashwell.

Jean was a believer in Christ, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother to 6 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren, and a friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, step-mother, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, a step-brother, and a step-sister.

She is survived by her 3 children, Susan Brookman Hart of Roanoke, VA, Mitzi Brookman Meyer of Ojai, CA, and Jeffory Wilson Brookman of Roanoke, VA.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Bruce Baxley and Elder Aaron Griffin officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery.
