Obituary of Emory E. Jones, Jr.

Emory E. Jones, Jr., 56, husband of Elizabeth Moles Jones went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2022. He was the son of Ruth Davis Jones and the late Emory E. Jones, Sr.

Jay, as he was called, was a member of Goodview Baptist Church and worked as a machinist for many years. He was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life such as cutting firewood, which many times he would give away, or fabricating something out of metal. He also enjoyed the mountains and the beauty of God’s creation. However, his greatest love was his family.

In addition to his wife of 32 years he will be missed and remembered by his mother, Ruth Davis Jones; daughter, Darla Beth Jones & her fiancée, Joseph Rotella; sister, Dawn Burch (Timothy); Nieces, Megan Younker (Ben) and Ashley Waloven; nephew, Lucas Burch; sister-in-law, Brenda Brown (Tracy); his in-laws, George and Lavonia Moles; beloved dogs Layla, Cooper, and Little Girl; as well as childhood friends and many other loved ones.

A service to honor his life will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Goodview Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd.
