Obituary of Jean Lewis Stamper
Jean Lewis Stamper, 84, of Roanoke passed away Monday, May 16, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haston and Una White Lewis; husband, E. Ray Stamper; and sisters, Sybil Rose, Cella Ferguson, and Irene Amburn.
Jean worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at Mountain View Elementary School. Jean was devoted to the work of her church. It didn't matter if it was serving on various committees, singing in the choir or other church music groups, or preparing meals for the congregation, Jean always served with a spirit of love and peace.
Surviving are her daughters, Carrie Johnson (Tom), and Teresa Carter; grandchildren, Trevor Johnson (Maggie), Amber Johnson (Kevin), Cheyenne Carter (Corey), and Saje Carter; great grandchildren, Theo Johnson, Maze Fitzgerald, Haston Cassidy, Zeik Fitzgerald, and another soon to be born, brother, William Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews; and her infamous "Beach Buddies".
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Music Program C/O Northview United Methodist Church 521 Ridgecrest Drive Roanoke, VA 24019
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at Northview United Methodist Church by Pastor Doug Sasser. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
