Obituary of George Robert Bandy

George "Bob" Bandy, 86, of Roanoke, joined the heavenly choir on Monday, May 16, 2022, with his beloved wife of 63 years at his side.

He is now reunited with his parents, Rex and Ethel Bandy, and 5 siblings, Barry Bandy, Benny Bandy, Buddy Bandy, Bill Bandy, and Jean Bales.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Bandy; son, Bobby Bandy; daughters, Kendra Woodward and husband Justin, Joyce Moxley, and Judy Bandy; grandchildren, Bryleigh Woodward, Ashley Desai and husband Vince, Daniel Moxley and wife Maria, and Justin Bandy and wife Hilary; great grandchildren, Mila and Micah Moxley and Leo and Edward Bandy; sister, Gaye Honaker; sister-in-law, Paula Bandy; neices; nephews; 4 beloved fur babies; and many special friends.

For over 60 years, Bob sung in numerous southern gospel quartets, as a premier bass and baritone singer. Aside from his family, singing was his passion. Bob also enjoyed watching hockey and football. He was a supporter of the Richlands High School Blue Tornados football team, which was his alma mater. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Medi Home Health for the care and love shown to him and his family, especially Morgan and Amanda.

The family invites extended family and friends to attend a celebration of life concert for Bob on Thursday, May 19th, 2022, at 11am. The service will be held at Church @ Grandin Village, 1701 Memorial Ave., Roanoke, VA 24015. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
