Johnnie R. "Red" Long, 77, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Johns Long; and son, Craig Benton Long.
Surviving are his daughter, Amy L. Long; granddaughters, Braelyn R. Martin and Isabelle R. Long; and sisters, Barbara Long and Kathy Bentley.
Johnnie really enjoyed working for and later retired from the Norfolk Southern Railway.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
