Obituary of Vivian Isabell Young Bell

Vivian Isabell Young Bell departed from her earthly life to be with the Lord and sing with the Angels on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the age of 92. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Remulus J. Bell; her parents, Ruby and George Young; her son, John Lamonde; grandson, Drew Grubb; son-in-law, Larry Robertson; brother, Norman Young; and sister, Louise Cross.  She is survived by her six daughters, Gloria Burchette (Nat), Patricia Robertson, Pamela Bell Locks (John), Cathy Hedrick (Mark), Donna Martin (Harvey), and Cindy Bell-Parsley (Bill);  daughter-in-law, Barbara Lamonde; 24 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brothers, Russell Young, Charles Young, and Freddie Young; and sister, Evelyn Riggle.

Vivian and her late husband, Remulus, were well known in the Roanoke Valley with their singing careers with her band "The Country Kings."  Along with her band, she performed many benefits, donating all proceeds for those in need, in the Roanoke area.  She also recorded and sang the top 100 Billboard hit song, "Angel In Your Arms" recorded in 1977.  She was strong in her faith in the Lord and loved to sing gospel music. She was a wonderful Mother and Nanny to her grandchildren and babysat many of her grandchildren, teaching them about Jesus; sharing her love of music and singing to all of them with her beautiful voice. Her greatest love was her late husband, late son, and surviving six daughters and grandchildren.  She will always be remembered as a woman who loved her family deeply, taught us all by experience, and showed us the way by her patience, love, and faith in God.

The family will receive friends at Simpson Funeral Home (Peters Creek Road) on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 12pm -1pm. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1pm, with Seth McCormick officiating. Processional will travel to Old Dominion Memorial Gardens, 7271 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke VA, for a Committal Service.
