Obituary of Ginny Bishop

Please share a memory of Ginny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Virginia “Ginny” Sue Huffman Bishop was a loving mother, devoted wife, and proud grandmother. Ginny died April 7th, 2022, at age 63, while surrounded by her closest family.

Ginny was born as the 4th child to Richard Kessler Huffman and Mary Sue Duncan Huffman on November 14th, 1958. Ginny was the first of the children to graduate high school and she worked jobs in customer service for much of her life. Ginny was married to Bruce Bishop for 30 years and together they raised two daughters, Erin Lacks and Carrie Bishop. Ginny is survived by her husband; older sister Mitzi Tuck; brother Jerry Broughman; daughters; three grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher, and Natalie; and special brother-in-law, JC Tuck.

Ginny took much pride in her home and had an appreciation for interior design and gardening. Ginny was a talented artist and an excellent cook who loved to spend time in the kitchen, creating delicious dishes for her loved ones. Reading, writing, and making beautiful crafts were hobbies that Ginny immersed herself in throughout her years. Ginny closely followed current events and was very passionate about politics. On January 6th, 2021, Ginny joined her sister and friend to support Donald Trump at the nation’s capital, and she was deeply patriotic. Ginny could often be found with a cup of coffee and her phone, reading the news, and she enjoyed relaying her findings with loved ones.

For the past ten years, Ginny suffered from health ailments that affected her quality of life. That did not diminish the most important aspect of Ginny’s life, which was love for her family. After her grandchildren were born, she dedicated her life to being a steadfast influence and support for them. Ginny always had their best interests at heart. Special events and holiday traditions were carefully thought out and held so that her children, grandchildren, and family would have pleasant memories to last a lifetime. Ginny can be best described as patient, loving, supportive, and strong. Ginny was cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, at her sister’s home. All who loved and cared for Ginny and her family are welcome.
