Kevin was the oldest son of Paul Aitken & Betty Heywood. He will be missed by his sister Donna Jean Crunk and her husband Bruce, as well as by his brother Paul J Aitken and his wife Ida.
When our father left, Kevin was just 11, he stepped up to help take care of us. My mother was a nurse and worked long hours, which left us alone a lot. One morning I remember there wasn't anything for breakfast. Kevin found some ready made biscuit dough. Knowing us younger kids wouldn't be excited about biscuits, he got creative by putting holes in them and coating them in sugar & cinnamon. When they were ready he announced we were having "Doughnuts" for breakfast. To this day, those were the best donuts I have ever had and probably the healthiest too!
My brother was hit with many challenges in life, starting at a very early age. He did his best to deal with all he could, some he handled better than others. His one gift was fixing things so he was always drawn to those that needed something fixed in life. I believe he was that way because that is what he was raised in. He never worried that when he offer his hand to someone that is drowning, they might pull you under with them. When I was young, he was there for me when I really needed him and I will always be thankful for that.
REST IN PEACE MY BIG BROTHER!!!
